Scripture Lesson #21 Mary Did You Know

For this scripture challenge Patter chose the beautiful song Mary Did You Know .You can read Patter's post at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com   HERE .

I have liked this song for many years , so I was pleased to be able to create a page around it.
So difficult to choose only one bible verse but I really love John1:14 in the New Living translation.
The beautiful die fills almost a 6 x 6 page.

Scripture Lesson #12 , Hello, My Name is

For this scripture lesson, Patter at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com has chosen the song Hello My Name Is by Matthew West. I have heard this song many times on UCB Christian radio here in the UK. It's a great song and very uplifting. You can read Patter's post HERE .

How wonderful it is to know that we are children of the One True King !

I used the same Autumn colours I used for my card in my previous post I really like the rich tones. We have had a mild Autumn in my part of the UK so far and there are still flowers about in these colours.

Scripture Lesson # 11 Not For A Moment

For this Scripture Lesson , Patter [ www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com ] chose the worship song Not For A Moment by Meredith Andrews. I hadn't heard this song before but it has beautiful lyrics and Meredith Andrews has such a lovely voice. I am really grateful to Patter for sharing the songs God puts on her heart , apart from being great to listen to, the lyrics are always an inspiration.

I moved back to the UK 2 years ago after 20 years away and it hasn't been easy to adapt back.
Despite visiting several churches , I haven't really found a "home" church. I think this has led me to feel that I don't really know where I belong!
Despite this I know Who I belong to - JESUS !
I usually ask my son to photograph my pages for me as he has a better camera.
Today he asked me what had happened to my pages lately as they were usually more embellished !
I certainly don't feel very creative at the moment ,but know that God will help me to get through this.
Not For A Moment does He forsake us !

Scripture Lesson # 10 WORN

For this scripture lesson , Patter [ www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com ] chose the song Worn by Tenth Avenue North . You can read Patter's post HERE .

I found this to be another powerful song. I don't think there are many of us who haven't felt completely worn down by certain situations , things that don't seem to get resolved despite our prayers. For my scripture I chose Psalm 68:19 from the Amplified version of The Bible , a wonderful reminder that we are never alone  The Lord is always with us. What really stood out to me was that He doesn't just help us with our burdens but actually wants to bear them for us ,if only we would let Him !

Scripture Lesson #9 Broken Hallelujah

I am behind with my pages for the Scripture Lessons over at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com . The weather has been unusually good here in the UK so there has been plenty of time outdoors while it lasts!
For this lesson , Patter chose the song Broken Hallelujah by the Afters. You can read Patter's wonderful post HERE .
I hadn't heard the song before but I think it's one whose words we can all identify with at some time.
As I was preparing my pages I was listening to a teaching on praise and the speaker used the verse Psalm 34:1 ,I knew I had to use it for my page.

Whatever difficulties we may be going through , our Lord is always with us ! It's not always easy to praise during those times and the words of the song really express how we can feel.

Scripture Lesson #8 Lift My Life Up

For this Scripture Lesson , Patter has chosen the song Lift  My Life Up  by Unspoken . You can read Patter's post and see her beautiful page HERE .

The song is about surrendering our lives to God .If we are going to give Him control as the lyrics of the song say ,then we have to trust Him. I admit it is something I struggle with sometimes, that's why I chose this scripture , Proverbs 3:5, it's something I need to read every day.

I was grateful to be able to use the lovely word art provided by Karen at www.papercraftmemories.com  for my scripture.

Scripture Lesson # 7 How Deep The Father's Love For Us

For this challenge, Patter has chosen a really beautiful worship song by Stuart Townend . He has written and performed many songs but this one has to be one of my favourites. You can read Patter's post HERE. She always has a wonderful teaching for us based on the songs.

When we really think about how much we are loved by our Heavenly Father it helps us show this love to others  in our daily lives. I have always found the words to this song encourage me a lot .

Scripture Lesson #6 Until The Whole World Hears

For Scripture Lesson #6 at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com , Patter has chosen a song by one of my favourite worship bands Casting Crowns. I have played this song many times and sung along but with Patter's lovely post HERE , it means even more to me now.
I created 2 6x6 pages. My second page is usually for the lyrics but I got a bit carried away with my embellishments and only had space for one verse!

Scripture Lesson #5 Let Them See You

The song which Patter chose for lesson #5 was Let Them See You by The JJ Weeks Band. You can read Patter's post HERE . I hadn't heard this song before but it has a lovely story to it. The band sang this song before their shows asking God to let the audience see Him not themselves as they were performing. This is such a good example to us in our every day lives. We may not be performing to an audience but in every little thing we do , we can give God the glory. I was pleased to be able to use the beautiful wordart provided by Karen at www.papercraftmemories.com .

As usual I made a separate 6 x 6 page for the lyrics.

Scripture Lesson # 4 Good Morning

Patter at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com has chosen the worship song Good Morning by Mandisa for this challenge. You can read her post HERE . I have heard this song many times on UCB radio here in the UK and it is happy song which can give you a lift  [especially in the morning !] I haven't managed to do the accompanying zumba video but I did manage the " Hokey Cokey " at my great niece's 1st birthday party so the song must have had some effect !

I needed some cheerful colours for my page this time and was pleased to have some stickers saying hello and sunshine which are part of the lyrics. I have had the sun die cut for many years so I'm glad to be able to use it here.

I chose my verse from the Amplified version of the Bible. It really does make a difference when we can spend those first moments of each day with the Lord and this song and scripture has encouraged me to wait and listen to what He has to say.

Again I have created two pages , one for the scripture and one for the lyrics.

Stickers - Simple Stories
Spellbinders square and scallop square dies
Sizzix flower die

Scripture Lesson #3 ALWAYS

For this scripture lesson Patter [ www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com ] has chosen the song Always by Kristian Stanfill . You can read Patter's post HERE .
This was another song I hadn't heard before but I am really enjoying being introduced to so many powerful worship songs.
For my scripture I used 2 Samuel:31-33. I liked the line of the song which says " I will not fear his promise is true " and as this verse says ALL his promises are true it is very appropriate!. I used the New Living translation.
This is such a wonderful passage .

Scripture Lesson #2 , UNDO

This is the second lesson in Patter's 2014 challenge at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com .
The worship song this lesson is Undo by Rush Of Fools.
I hadn't heard this song before and although the words are not as poetic as the old hymns when you listen to it and really ponder on what the song is saying , it is very powerful !

For my page I chose  Psalm 86:15 from the New Living version , it's wonderful to know that God's love will never fail us !

Scripture Lesson #1 You are The Lord

My first page for Patter's Scripture Lessons and Lyrics Challenge at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com .This will be the 4th year I have participated in Patter's challenges and I have found them to be a real blessing ! The last 2 years have focused on hymns and this year there may be a mixture of hymns and modern worship songs.
You can find Patter's post on this lovely worship song by Jeremy Camp HERE .

I have decided to continue with my 6 x 6 page format but with 2 pages , one for the scripture and one for the lyrics.

I haven't been able to get a good photo of my pages ,the weather is so grey and rainy ,but as it could be like this for a few days  ,thought I had better post now so as not to get behind !

This song has lovely words and it is a wonderful reminder as we begin this New Year that JESUS IS OUR LORD !

Hymn and Scripture Challenge - Immortal ,Invisible, God Only Wise

My final page for Patter's 2013 challenge at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com.
My pages were a little out of order towards the end of the year , but I wanted to post my Christmas hymn at least in December , if not in time for Christmas !

This hymn always reminds me of my school days , we must have sung it quite often during our morning assemblies.

The border is made from a memory box square die I have used before ,but this time I cut into the die cut for my swirls.

I came across this version of the hymn using a modern tune which I think shows how these beautiful words can appeal to younger generations.

Patter's 2014 Challenge has just begun , so pleased she is continuing with another challenge, they are a great blessing!

Hymn and Scripture Challenge - I Need Thee Every Hour and Lord ,Speak To Me

Two more pages for Patter's 2013 challenge at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com .

The scripture verse is from the New Living translation.
You can read Patter's post on this hymn HERE
Here is a lovely version of the Hymn by Fernando Ortega.

Another lovely hymn I was not familiar with.
Here are the words to the hymn and you can read Patter's post HERE

1 Lord, speak to me, that I may speak
in living echoes of thy tone;
as thou has sought, so let me seek
thine erring children lost and lone.

2 O strengthen me, that while I stand
firm on the rock, and strong in thee,
I may stretch out a loving land
to wrestlers with the troubled sea.

3 O teach me, Lord, that I may teach
the precious things thou dost impart;
and wing my words, that they may reach
the hidden depths of many a heart.

4 O fill me with thy fullness, Lord,
until my very heart o'erflow
in kindling thought and glowing word,
thy love to tell, thy praise to show.

5 O use me, Lord, use even me,
just as thou wilt, and when, and where,
until thy blessed face I see,
thy rest, thy joy, thy glory share.

I heard the following song on UCB Christian radio recently and it reminded me of this hymn.
Completely different , but it struck me that we miss so many chances to share God's word and show His love each day.

Only one more page , then I will be caught up , ready to begin the 2014 challenge , which begins on Sunday!
