Hymn and Scripture Challenge MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE

Having sung hymns since early schooldays ,when we had a hymn and prayer every morning before classes began ,I am surprised at the number of hymns I haven't heard before. Patters challenge over at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com is introducing me to many beautiful hymns which are new to me.
One of the things I like best about the challenges is studying for the scripture which I want to use on my page.My scripture this time is from another favourite psalm , Psalm 121:1-2.

Hymn and Scripture Challenge 2013 Lift High The Cross

The first hymn in Patter's 2013 challenge over at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com. Patter has written a lovely post about this hymn , the background to it and some wonderful thoughts about the words.
I included a small cross at the top of my page which I tried to make to look like the palm crosses we used to hold high on Palm Sunday at my previous church. Another hymn that I wasn't familiar with but such beautiful words.

                                                     Paper - Papermania Boofle collection
                                                      Flower  Memory Box Lovely Asters
                                                                   Bazzill cardstock

I thought I would share a worship song {today's hymns !} by Robin Mark -The Wonder of The Cross
How can we ever thank Jesus enough for what He accomplished for us on the cross!!

                                                                     Thank You Jesus !

                                                                  Thanks for visiting today !

Just a note - I've had problems uploading photos using Internet Explorer and was told to try using a different browser. This worked but even though everything is neatly typed on my post, when it is published , headings, footnotes etc do not appear in the correct places!

Hymn and Scripture Challenge 2012 Trust and Obey and Oh for a Thousand Tongues to Sing

                                                                       Trust and Obey

It's been quite a few years since I've had to deal with cold snowy weather! I think this must have influenced my colour choice for this page! Patter chose this lovely hymn for one of last years challenges, but it's a wonderful reminder to me at the beginning of a new year to put my trust in the Lord at all times.
I was pleased to be able to use one of my Our Daily Bread Designs stamps ,from one of the Scripture series.
The verse is Isaiah !2.2
The flower is the Sizzix Daisy no2 die again, I really like playing with this die!
The paper is  :   Bazill cardstock
                         Papermania glitter paper
                         Martha Stewart leaf punch

Oh For a Thousand Tongues to sing

Another stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs, I think its called You shall find Refuge.
The bird image looks lovely coloured in but also looks great uncoloured, which is a great thing for someone like me who needs a lot of colouring practice!

The words to this hymn are really beautiful and Patter's post on this hymn at
www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com is well worth a read.

Patter has just begun her Challenge posts for 2013 so it's a great time to join in, the posts are always a blessing.

Thanks for visiting today !

Hymn and Scripture Challenge --Great is Thy Faithfulness and Praise to The Lord The Almighty

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Another beautiful hymn for Patters challenge at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com

I was pleased to be able to use one of Our Daily Bread Designs stamps on my page , a wonderful scripture and the fonts they use for the stamps are always so good.

As I need to catch up with my pages ,I used a piece of lovely patterned paper[Papermania] which needs little embellishment. The alphabet tiles are from the same paper pad,so my page came together quickly, just a little Stickles glitter around the rose and Kaiserkraft flowers.

As my pages are 6x6 I have decided to sometimes put the hymn on the back of the page.

Praise to The Lord The Almighty

I was so pleased when Patter chose this hymn as it was my High School hymn. I sang this so many times during my 7 years at high school ! It always brings back memories .

I was grateful to Karen at www.papercraftmemories.com for providing the beautiful scripture wordart. It was perfect for my page .Karen has some beautiful scriptures for us to use on her lovely blog.

I made the flower a long time ago so another quick page.I just changed the centre of the flower,it's a Sizzix Bigz Daisy no2 die.

I am pleased that Patter is still continuing with the challenge this year. The first one will be 13th January ,so I've got a bit of time to catch up and post some more pages before then. Please have a look at Patter's blog and join in if you can.

I was listening to a  Christian radio station this morning and the presenter was reading the words to some of the old hymns and saying that there are sermons in nearly every verse. It's true how much more we can gain from studying the words with accompanying scriptures.

United christian Broadcasters is a fantastic radio and tv station, you need a DAB radio in UK but anyone can listen online at www.ucb.co.uk

It's also a lot of fun joining in the challenges and seeing what the other participants have made, there are always some beautiful projects.

A blessed New Year to everyone !

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

I would also like to wish everyone a truly blessed Christmas full of the peace and joy only Our Saviour can give.
Sorry about the poor quality of the photo ,the verse is Luke 2 verses 11-12.

Hymn and Scripture Challenge - I Surrender All and When We All Get to Heaven

It's been a while since I have been able to join in the challenge again over at www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com. A move back overseas, waiting for my craft supplies being shipped over, settling into a new home, trying to get used to a new computer [ not quite got the hang of it  though as my uncropped photos reveal ! ]  The Lord has helped us and we are all  [including our beautiful dog ! ] getting used to our new environment.
I have a couple of pages to post finally and hope to catch up soon.

I Surrender All

This has to be one of my favourite scriptures but also one which I fail to heed many times!

Trust in The Lord with ALL your heart , I surrender ALL  but somehow I always seem to be holding on to something!

When We all Get To Heaven

I am not familiar with this hymn but think it is lovely! I think of all the worship going on in Heaven now and will be forevermore.I immediately thought about my stamp from a set by Our Daily Bread Designs to use for my scripture. One good thing about moving is that you get to sort out all the things you have been hoarding for years! I unearthed some chipboard pieces which I had never used and was pleased to use one here for my 'Heavenly' tree.

It's good to be back and I hope to have another page soon !
