ABC Scripture Challenge #9 Identity

Patter really challenged us with the word IDENTITY .  I tried to get the idea of a mirror on my page . Who do we see when we look in the mirror ? Do we see ourselves with all our faults - real or imagined? How often do we see ourselves as A Child of God -loved unconditionally by and valuable to our Heavenly Father ? The verses I used are Psalm 103:11 , Matthew 10:31 { inspired by a devotional from Dayspring.com } and John 1:12.

ABC Scripture Challenge #8 Hands

Psalm 19 is one of my favourite psalms ,so I was pleased to be able to use verse 1 for my page.I seem to be revisiting my old Sunday School craft days lately with my pages ! Looking back to one of our previous words - forget - it's a wonderful thought that we are inscribed on the very hands that created the universe.

The "sky is a piece of blue vellum printed with clouds and the stickers are some I have had for a long time ,Bo Bunny trees and Me and My Big Ideas sheep. Punched stars covered with glitter.

ABC Scripture Challenge #7 GIFT

Patter's lovely teaching this time was on the word Gift. I wanted my page to reflect the gift of the Holy Spirit and used Acts 2:38 for my scripture verse. I used a template from a Sunday School crafts book and made the dove the main focus of my page. How important it is to thank God for His precious gifts every day !

ABC Scripture Challenge #6 Forget

I couldn't decide which verses to use for my page this time.I had typed out a different verse but didn't feel it was the one I should use. Then at my Bible study we listened to a song by a British artist Stuart Townend and when I saw the words of one verse I realised I should use the verse Patter gave us when she explained that the words in Isaiah refer to the wounds in Jesus' hands. Here are the words to the verse in the song:
                                        Oh to see my name
                                        Written in the wounds,
                                         For through Your suffering I am free,
                                         Death is crushed to death,
                                         Life is mine to live,
                                         Won through your selfless love.

I used another piece of my Papermania Rose Garden paper and another sizzix die cut bird.They are my favourites at the moment so they are being used a lot!                                   

ABC Scripture Challenge #5 Easy

How often do we go through times when we feel "weary and burdened" and forget to take our burdens to Jesus? Patter explained that the word translated easy came from the Greek - chrestos.This means comfortable or manageable.We can certainly manage better yoked to Jesus !
My verses are Matthew 11:28-30 and 1 John 5:2-3.

ABC Scripture Challenge #4 Delight

A really wonderful study this week from Patter! It's a wonderful feeling to know that God delights in us!It was [again!] difficult to choose just a couple of verses. I don't have many Our Daily Bread Designs stamps yet ,but one set I do have has this wonderful verse from Zephaniah 3:17 . For my other verse I chose Psalm 147:11 as this seemed to tie in with our anchor theme from week 1.After I had typed this verse on my computer and printed it off I looked at my e mails and there was a devotional from David Wilkerson at www.wordchallenge.org/en/node/12402 titled God delights in you! I encourage you to read it !
For my page I used a "delightful" paper I had been saving. The beautiful roses meant little was needed in the way of embellishments.A little glitter and a little lace!

ABC Scripture Challenge #3 Confidence

This is my page for the scripture challenge over at Patter's blog triplethescraps.blogspot.com. Word #3 is CONFIDENCE. I wanted some bright confident colours for my page and used some Cuttlekids flower dies.I think these were the first ones I bought when I bought my Cuttlebug some years ago! The butterflies are sizzix and remind me of the freedom we have to approach our Heavenly Father through faith in his Son.The scripture is Ephesians 3:12 "In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence". What an awesome thought !
