Hymn and Scripture Challenge SAVIOR LIKE A SHEPHERD LEAD US

Another hymn I have not heard before but another one with lovely words !
Jesus as our Shepherd is such a comforting picture.
I so like the verse from Isaiah 40:11, a picture of such a caring Shepherd.

For my page I cut out a shepherds crook shape and stained it with brown ink and chalk and added some flowers, raffia bow and leaves. I have had the grass border for some years so was glad to be able to use it here. The little sheep is from a peel off sticker Nativity set.

I have so enjoyed meditating on Jesus our Shepherd these past two weeks! The Hymn and Scripture Challenge is such a blessing , details are on Patter's blog www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com .It is possible to join in any time , well worth a visit!
Looking forward to the next hymn.

Little Moose card!

I haven't got many stamps but a few years ago I did buy two stamps featuring Riley Moose.
I find these moose images so cute! They haven't been used very much so I was pleased to be able to make a card with one of the stamps for a friend who has been in hospital and needs to take it easy for a while.I was pleased to be able to use one of my scripture stamps from Our Daiy Bread designs too.
I am linking this to the scripture Thursday over at www.littlebirdieblessings.blogspot.com
It is a really lovely blog and well worth a visit!

Hymn and Scripture Challenge - MAY THE MIND OF CHRIST MY SAVIOR

I had not heard this hymn before but thought the words were wonderful!
Patter has written a lovely post about this hymn and it is well worth a visit to read it at the link below.

http://www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com/2012/02/hscrc12-hymn-5-may-mind-of-christ-my.html

The hymn reads like a beautiful prayer.

For my page I used the verse from Philippians 4:8, I have often thought how good it would be just to think on the things in the verse, how different our lives would be!
I can't seem to get good photos at the moment but if you click on the picture you should get a larger view.

I found a lovely version of the hymn on You tube so I hope the link works ok.

Wordart Wednesday

I think I might be too late to submit my card for this weeks challenge at www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com, but thought I would share it anyway.
There have been so many beautiful entries this week ,scripture does really bring out the best in crafters , no doubt about that!

I very rarely use stamped images as I don't usually get good results and am not very good at the colouring! Our Daily Bread Designs have such lovely stamps though that I must do some practicing and invest in a few more.
What a wonderful scripture this is for our busy weeks which seem to fly by sometimes.

Thanks for visiting today!

Hymn and Scripture Challenge STANDING ON THE PROMISES

This weeks challenge gave us a hymn which I have never sung before. When I followed Patters link to listen to the hymn  ,I recognised the tune, I had probably heard it many times on  Christian TV programmes from America. It is so different when you have the words before you. What was once a "catchy" chorus turns into a beautiful hymn with precious lyrics. I am sure I will be singing this one for a while too!
I chose both my scriptures from Isaiah, one to remind me to stand on the promises and the other, one of the many promises we can stand on.

I did manage two verses on my page , so maybe I am beginning to get used to my 6x6 format!
I managed to keep a little of the patterned paper showing as it is so nice and managed to only use one flower!
I can't seem to get very good photos at the moment ,the light has changed with the weather and I will have to do a little experimenting.

Wordart Wednesday

Just a quick post to link this card to the challenge over at www.wordartwednesday.blogspot .com.
They have lovely scripture wordart each wednesday to use.
I made this card while I had my supplies out for Patter's Hymn and Scripture challenge , so this is a "matching" card to my last page!
What a beautiful verse they have given this week!
The card hasn't photographed very well the verse looks much better!

Hymn and Scripture Challenge HOW GREAT THOU ART

Has anyone else been singing this Hymn non stop for two weeks? I was even singing it in my dream last night! It is difficult to choose just one scripture describing our great God but in the end I decided on Psalm 104 verse 1, what a wonderful description of Him "clothed in honour and majesty"! I hope my page goes a little way to conveying the love we have for our Great God.

I have been listening to a great version of this hymn by the worship group at Abundant Life Church in the north of England. This is a large multi national church with all age groups, I think it goes to show how the old hymns can still be sung and enjoyed in contemporary worship services. Unfortuneately I can't seem to embed this video but maybe this link will work:

Thaks for visiting and looking forward to the next hymn today!
