ABC Scripture Challenge. WEARY EXERCISE and YEILD

I am catching up with my pages!

I will post the latest 3 I have done , so the others will be out of order but I am waiting to finish an earlier one.

WEARY
I chose the beautiful scripture from Isaiah .I had just purchased some Dayspring notecards from my local Christian Bookshop and thought the image would go nicely. The card had a different scripture ,which I covered with my verse. It is quite a masculine page , so I did have to add a flower. This scripture is surely one we can depend on during this holiday time. We are thankful that our Heavenly Father doesn't grow weary!

EXERCISE

I really like this scripture from Proverbs 31!
My husband recently bought me a set of dumbells to firm up my arms after having lost weight!

While studying for this word ,I have found several studies on Proverbs 31 which I am going to do so this page has really helped me.
I was pleased to use a paper doll which I have had for ages .

I had another page done for this word but then I felt that The Lord wanted me to use this scripture.
Very appropriate for this time of year and I was able to use a copy of a [larger] drawing my son had done a couple of years ago.
how grateful we are that Mary did yield to God's plan !

I had prepared a different page and scripture but didn't feel that it was what The Lord wanted me to "share".After praying about it I felt that He wanted me to use the scripture about the feeding of the five thousand.So a completely new page came about! A boy willing to share what little he had and put it in the hands of Jesus. An example to follow!

ABC Scripture Challenge PORTION and QUALIFIED

I am finally able to post  a couple of pages after some computer and printer problems!
As I had to have a new hard drive , I am still trying to figure out some of the new upgraded programs. Looks like I will have to practice a little at cropping photos which used to be so easy! Can't master it at the moment!

PORTION
I was so pleased to study this word which Patter gave us. It was wonderful to learn that one of the Hebrew meanings is inheritance or allotmemt. God is our inheritance , everything we need is in Him.

For my page I used the beautiful verse from 2 Peter 1:3.

I think ties in beautifully with our previous word.

I used a new [ to me ] Sizzix frame die and part of a new Sizzix flower die No 10 with some  Prima hydrangeas and papermania brad.
The paper is from the Papermania Summer Bloom collection.

I have another two pages nearly completed so hopefully I can post them later and catch up some more !

ABC Scripture Challenge NEW and OTHERS

I am behind with my pages due to holidays and computer difficulties but hope to catch up soon!
For my NEW page I had another verse in mind but The Lord kept directing me back to these verses from Psalms 96 and 40.

For my OTHERS page , I used the verse from Romans 13 about loving others.I also decided to include 1Coriinthians 13 ,to remind me what love is really all about! Something I often have to remind myself ! The verse is free wordart ,graciously given by Karen on her blog www.papercraftmemories.com . There are some wonderful verses there and plenty of great inspiration!

ABC Scripture Challenge MOTIVE

ABC Scripture Challenge #11 Know and # 12 Lonely

Catching up a little with the challenges! It is interesting though when you do 2 close together how you can see that God's love and faithfullness are interwoven throughout scripture.My verse for Know tells us that God is aware of every creature on earth! How , in our lonely moments ,can we not realise that He is aware of us! He wants us to draw close to Him though , that is why I think it is important that we follow the advice in Hebrews and meet together with other believers where we can find encouragement during times when we may feel alone.

I had to scan my pages and I think the colours are a little "off" !
The background paper is from Papermania Birdsong collection and my son kindly drew me some "creatures" which we cut out and stuck around the page. I think they add a lovely splash of colour ,so thanks again for his input!

Another piece of Birdsong paper. I thought the birds sitting on the branches  nicely represented "meeting together" ! The paper is so "busy" that I thought no embellishment was needed. I had to handwrite the scriptures so they are not very clear . They are James 4:8 and Hebrews 10:25. If you click on the picture they should be a little more readable.
The verses were cut out with Nestabilities Mega ovals.

ABC Scripture Challenge #10 Journey

While I was reading Psalm 23 I thought that it reflected our journey with our Shepherd. We have times when we need to be refreshed, times when we need to rest in His presence. If we journey with Him he leads us in paths of righteousness.It is comforting to know that wherever we are on our journey He has promised to be with us.
I used Psalm 23 as my scripture.
The background paper is from Docrafts Birdsong collection, the lovely tree design didn't need much embellishing.
I used some more sheep and a shepherd stickers from an old set by Bo Bunny.
I asked my son to draw a signpost for me and I think he did a good job!

ABC Scripture Challenge #9 Identity

Patter really challenged us with the word IDENTITY .  I tried to get the idea of a mirror on my page . Who do we see when we look in the mirror ? Do we see ourselves with all our faults - real or imagined? How often do we see ourselves as A Child of God -loved unconditionally by and valuable to our Heavenly Father ? The verses I used are Psalm 103:11 , Matthew 10:31 { inspired by a devotional from Dayspring.com } and John 1:12.

ABC Scripture Challenge #8 Hands

Psalm 19 is one of my favourite psalms ,so I was pleased to be able to use verse 1 for my page.I seem to be revisiting my old Sunday School craft days lately with my pages ! Looking back to one of our previous words - forget - it's a wonderful thought that we are inscribed on the very hands that created the universe.

The "sky is a piece of blue vellum printed with clouds and the stickers are some I have had for a long time ,Bo Bunny trees and Me and My Big Ideas sheep. Punched stars covered with glitter.

ABC Scripture Challenge #7 GIFT

Patter's lovely teaching this time was on the word Gift. I wanted my page to reflect the gift of the Holy Spirit and used Acts 2:38 for my scripture verse. I used a template from a Sunday School crafts book and made the dove the main focus of my page. How important it is to thank God for His precious gifts every day !

ABC Scripture Challenge #6 Forget

I couldn't decide which verses to use for my page this time.I had typed out a different verse but didn't feel it was the one I should use. Then at my Bible study we listened to a song by a British artist Stuart Townend and when I saw the words of one verse I realised I should use the verse Patter gave us when she explained that the words in Isaiah refer to the wounds in Jesus' hands. Here are the words to the verse in the song:
                                        Oh to see my name
                                        Written in the wounds,
                                         For through Your suffering I am free,
                                         Death is crushed to death,
                                         Life is mine to live,
                                         Won through your selfless love.

I used another piece of my Papermania Rose Garden paper and another sizzix die cut bird.They are my favourites at the moment so they are being used a lot!                                   

ABC Scripture Challenge #5 Easy

How often do we go through times when we feel "weary and burdened" and forget to take our burdens to Jesus? Patter explained that the word translated easy came from the Greek - chrestos.This means comfortable or manageable.We can certainly manage better yoked to Jesus !
My verses are Matthew 11:28-30 and 1 John 5:2-3.

ABC Scripture Challenge #4 Delight

A really wonderful study this week from Patter! It's a wonderful feeling to know that God delights in us!It was [again!] difficult to choose just a couple of verses. I don't have many Our Daily Bread Designs stamps yet ,but one set I do have has this wonderful verse from Zephaniah 3:17 . For my other verse I chose Psalm 147:11 as this seemed to tie in with our anchor theme from week 1.After I had typed this verse on my computer and printed it off I looked at my e mails and there was a devotional from David Wilkerson at www.wordchallenge.org/en/node/12402 titled God delights in you! I encourage you to read it !
For my page I used a "delightful" paper I had been saving. The beautiful roses meant little was needed in the way of embellishments.A little glitter and a little lace!

ABC Scripture Challenge #3 Confidence

This is my page for the scripture challenge over at Patter's blog triplethescraps.blogspot.com. Word #3 is CONFIDENCE. I wanted some bright confident colours for my page and used some Cuttlekids flower dies.I think these were the first ones I bought when I bought my Cuttlebug some years ago! The butterflies are sizzix and remind me of the freedom we have to approach our Heavenly Father through faith in his Son.The scripture is Ephesians 3:12 "In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence". What an awesome thought !

ABC Scripture Challenge #2 Bible

Scripture Challenge #2 on Patters blog http://www.triplethescraps.blogspot.com/ is the word BIBLE. I really didn't know where to start for this challenge ! You could fill a whole album just on this word not just one page! I got my inspiration from a daily devotional by Greg Laurie where he used part of this scripture about the road to Emmaeus. I used Luke 24 v27-32. Jesus explained  to the two travellers the scriptures concerning Himself. This story is in our New Testament but of course the Scriptures Jesus was refering to are in our Old Testament. I wanted to try to show that Jesus belongs in both the Old and New Testaments.I love the part of the scripture which says"Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the scriptures to us?" Let our hearts burn with love for Jesus as we read His word !

ABC Scripture Challenge # 1 Anchor

This is my first post for The ABC Scripture Challenge on Patter's blog triplethescraps. I took some inspiration from Ann-Marie"s blog about being anchored to Jesus. What a wonderful thought to begin the New Year.Anchor ourselves to the Word and make it a priority in 2011.Haven't quite got how to upload pictures yet !!
